Our History

Stokes Marketing, LLC was formed in February of 2004. The company's services initially included property management and over the course of the next 11 years expanded its offering to include painting and carpentry.

In January of 2015, the management team of Stokes Marketing formed LARS, LLC which became the parent company. Subsequently the same year LARS purchased a 15,000 square foot commercial office complex located in Gahanna, Ohio where the company is also headquartered.

This facility now is also home to a diverse number of business professionals whose firms occupy 40 individual office spaces as tenants, co-workers, associates and friends.

Our Unique grouping of individuals and businesses under one roof has strengthened our property management capabilities as we seek to grow and prosper as one of the fastest up and coming property management entities in the Central Ohio area.

Lavita Stokes

President

Lavita is the visionary leader and critical decision maker. She has 24 plus years of experience and judgement in Real Estate Management. In her role, she plans and directs all aspects of the organization's policies, objectives, and initiatives to accomplish LARS Properties goals. Her hands on approach is the driving force behind the growth and direction of the company.

John Garrett

Director of Field Operations

John brings over 36 years of experience in carpentry which includes general repairs, light electrical, light plumbing and light concrete. His other various capabilities also include some light roofing, remodeling tasks such as rough and finish carpentry, drywall hanging & patching, installing windows and doors, yard work/maintenance, general cleaning, and painting. He has been a valuable member of the LARS, LLC team for over 10 years

Ron Stokes

Executive Vice President

Ron has had careers in residential and commercial banking which included facilitating Fannie Mae, FHA, and 203k home rehabilitation mortgages. Ron has over 25 years of experience in property management. He also served on the board of First City Bank.

Laurel Gourrier

Payroll Specialist/Project Assistant

Laurel Gourrier is the first born of the family business; she is a special education teacher/family advocate and also supports families in the community as a birth and postpartum doula. Serving families in both capacities, she provides them with information and tools to feel empowered by their own experiences and stories. Working with LARS she is responsible for bookkeeping, managing the payroll processing of weekly, bi-weekly and semi-monthly payrolls for the company employees as well as providing administrative support regarding projects.

Amber Stokes

Project Manager

Amber Stokes is the second born of the family business; she is a former professional basketball player as well as an Ohio State graduate and played on the team like her father. Working within LARS, Amber is responsible for communicating with vendors, maintaining entries in Quickbooks, and handles registration and certifications regarding bids. With Amber’s strong communication skills she can foster an environment of teamwork and ensures strategies are clear and precise regarding projects.

Ronnie Stokes Jr

VP Of Operations

Ronnie Stokes Jr is the third born of the family business; Ron Jr is responsible for developing communication strategies for delivery of corporate culture and business strategy to all tenants housed in the 18,000-square foot company corporate office and 20 plus based painting employees. He contributes to managing the company brand and reputation as well as keeping the company website up to date.

Sydney Stokes

Customer Support

Sydney Stokes is the fourth born of the family business; Working within LARS, Sydney is responsible for communicating with vendors and processing orders as well as sorting and filing customer information.

Debbie Swecker

Accounting Manager

Debbie Swecker has served as the Accounting Manager with LARS Properties, LLC since 2019. She earned her Masters’ Degree in Business Administration and Accounting from Keller Graduate School where she graduated with honors. Debbie has over 20 years of accounting and tax experience in a wide variety of industries ranging from healthcare products to software and has worked in the public and private sectors and with small businesses as well as large corporations.
